Walking The Talk

At Sd3 we don't just advise others to become more sustainable, we try to do it ourselves through our 'money where your mouth is' activities.

Currently we:
source 80% of our electricity from renewable energy
include 'resource costs' as far as possible in our fees. Currently this is limited to being carbon neutral; we offset our emissions through Climate Care Ltd, [www.climatecare.org]. Our 2002 CO2 emissions were 51 tonnes or approximately the same as would be produced by driving a family petrol car round the world over 7 times.
use home offices and teleconferencing and take public transport whenever we can
donate 1% of net profits to charities which satisfy sustainability principles
allocate 9% of Sd3's net profits to help fund sustainability projects
purchase sustainable office products whenever possible (e.g. in 2002: re-used office furniture, Forest Stewardship Council certified shelves, sustainably sourced stationery)
bank with the ethical bank, Triodos, which promotes sustainable development [www.triodos.co.uk]
provide ethical stakeholder pensions through Norwich Union
are insured through Ansvar - a leading ethical insurer [www.ansvar.co.uk]
