GM publishes Corporate Responsibility Report 2004/05 online

GM again retained Sd3 to help conceptualise, develop, produce and publish their new CR Report which outlines the company's global achievements and challenges in the key areas of product, economic, environmental, and social responsibility.

During a commercially demanding year GM continued its commitment to transparency and accountability. Senior executives at GM place corporate responsibility reporting as a central element of the corporation's communications. Aspects of its design, developed by GM and Sd3, have been adopted by GM on their wider corporate responsibility communications platform known as GMability.

An important focus this year was on issues affecting the company and stakeholders such as vehicle quality, fuel economy, plant safety and global climate impacts.

The report includes some key improvements from the previous years that build upon GM's integrated web-based reporting, including:

a strong focus on corporate governance
good coverage on key commercial challenges such as US healthcare costs and international trading practices
highlights and challenges heading up each chapter to help readers identify key issues
more extensive and better local information outside North America, with improved regional navigation

The report, produced in accordance with the GRI guidelines and entitled "Finding the Balance", presents the automaker's performance by region and globally. See www.gmresponsibility.com.
