Assurance
The
first consideration for any reporter when thinking about assurance
is: ‘How do we ensure that our key report audiences trust what we
are saying? As there are many different audiences, with many expectations;
so there are many ways of raising the credibility of your report.
Increasingly reporters are turning to independent experts to enhance
credibility through assurance – and there are other routes available
which Sd3 can advise on. Sd3 have been closely involved with the
debate on report verification and assurance since our start up in
1999. Over the last few years our team has provided input to the
development of the AA1000AS standard, the SIGMA assurance module
and the GRI guidelines. We are now convinced that approaches of
this nature engender a significantly higher level of stakeholder
confidence and trust.
